Biography Pope Benedict V di Roma is Notable.
Benedict was the son of a Roman called John and born in the vicinity of the Theatre of Marcellus in Rome.[1]
His nickname of Grammaticus resulted from his great love of learning.[2]
Benedict was consecrated bishop and crowned pope on 22 May 964.[3] [1]
Platina[4] states:
Benedict the Fifth, a Roman, in the sedition was of a deacon made Pope...
He died on 4 July 965 and was buried in Hamburg Cathedral then transferred to Rome prior to 988.[1]
